St Brigid’s District Hospital, which is owned and run by the Health Service Executive (HSE) was built and founded as a fever hospital in 1817.

The hospital provides care to 21 residents who are mainly over sixty five years.

This comprises four rehabilitation beds, four respite care beds to assist with the rehabilitation of older persons back to the community, twelve convalescent care beds and one palliative care bed.

The grounds to the front of the building are used mainly for car parking. There is a well maintained walled garden to the rear of the building.

St. Brigids’ District Hospital Hospital is situated approximately 800m outside the town of Carrick on Suir, and is in walking distance of shops, banks, the post office and other amenities.
